Be Cool This Summer Season

With sun shining well above our heads and a steep increase in mercury levels all of us like to stay indoors or visit some cool hilly areas to avoid this scorching summer heat. However, this is not always possible with our stressful jobs and hectic routines.  So here are some simple steps that all of us can follow to keep ourselves cool in this summer season:

You can remain cool by washing your face, hands, and feet with cold water during peak summer hours. You can even try wiping these body parts with a cold cloth or submerging your feet in a tub of cold water with a wet towel wrapped around your head to help lower the body temperature.

Also, try wrapping a towel around your shoulders when roaming out in the scorching heat or slogging in the kitchen. Use minty powder before leaving in the summer sun. Also, don’t forget to use sunscreens to save yourself from the ultraviolet sunrays.

Don’t forget to drink lot of water and cool beverages such as coconut water and fruit juices. Also, include a lot of seasonal fruits such as melons, watermelons, and mangoes instead of hot tea and coffee.

It is also a good practice to cover your house with wet curtains or khus khus mats to keep your home cool and comfortable. Also, don’t forget to open all the doors and windows in your house to flush away the hot air trapped inside.

Planting lots of trees and indoor plants helps lower your home temperature. You can even get the exteriors of your house painted with some color shades that help lower the temperatures by 3-4 degrees.
